The garden is a permanent installation located in Whittier Park, a public green space on the land adjacent to the meeting of the Assiniboine and Seine Rivers, on Treaty 1 Territory. The work is accessible by the gravel walking and cycling path which follows the riverbank. In 2018 I planted cotoneaster shrubs and have since cared for them as they grow. As the space matured, I built benches and a sculpture to suit its shape. In summer 2022 the built elements were installed within the space to create an all-seasons sculpture garden which now belongs to whomever spends time in the park.
The production of this work was supported by the Winnipeg Arts Council. Documentation of the sculpture and benches taken by Hannah Whitlaw.
